JConcepts 1/10th buggy drawstring tote bag Posted: 19 Dec 2018 07:37 AM PST Coming from JConcepts is their new drawstring tote bag for 1/10th off-road buggies. The drawstring bag has a handy base design with durable material and it is comprised of multiple compartments with the largest area being reserved for RC vehicle resting space. Inside the large opening is a divider which allows the user to separate items, such as instruction manuals, setup books or generally small related items, from the vehicle compartment. On the outside, a zipper closure opens to another slide compartment that can be completely isolated from other items. Large gauge drawstrings are located on the perimeter which when pulled together clinches the bag at the top. Heavy stitching is used throughout to help maintain construction and the main material offers some resistance to moisture in select closed areas. Small holes are located at the bottom of the outside pouch for ventilation. The bag is topped off with printed JConcepts Racing Team logo for authenticity and brand loyalty. JConcepts A1R 190mm touring car body shell Posted: 19 Dec 2018 07:00 AM PST Following several teasers on social media and extensive track testing, JConcepts have finally unveiled their all-new A1R 190mm touring car body shell. A true drivers body, the new shell has fundamental differences necessary for performance. When the team hit the track during the 2018 ROAR Nationals, it was apparent there would be a new era starting in touring car racing. As a racing veteran for almost 30 years, Paul Wynn went to work sculpting a new A1R. After input from National Champion, Ryan Cavalieri the new speedster started to take shape. First, the front-end was considerably laid-back, shortening the nose allowing the force to be placed over the leading-edge of the front tyres. A-pillar rails extend over the hood for some air deflection straight over the nose. The front windshield appears sunk, however its widely connected to the aggressive roofline giving the A1R its distinctive shape. Behind the front wheel well and in front of the rear wheel well a definitive edge strengthens the openings and also provides better race posture. A hard edge runs the bottom of the rocker-panel providing more grit to the design while also providing extra front to rear rigidity. Moving to the rear section of the body, the trunk area was reduced giving the body a much shorter overhang. The rear overhang is important, a critical part of the body which controls down-force and provides the placement for the rear wing. To complete the look and finish, the bubbled roof profile and minimally structured greenhouse area allows the body to whisk through high-speed sections. Included in each body set, a JConcepts A1R decal sheet and paint mask for all windows. The rear wing option includes two styles, first a standard lip design and a gurney option for the ultimate rear down-force tuning. To attach the rear wing, 3mm mounting hardware and plastic nuts are included to complete the light-weight assembly. The body is available in lightweight and regular weight specifications and it is built for all 190mm width touring car vehicles and was designed to meet all the ROAR “global body spec” rules. Standard thickness is most comparable to all sturdy racing bodies on the market. Light-weight is a thinner gauge material, most often used on the world racing scene for the most experienced or weight-conscious racers. Wheel well openings are pre-marked on the clear body for a 253.5mm wheelbase, however, depending on the length of the vehicle, these may be altered slightly by the user. The rear wings are 180mm wide each with one featuring a slight gurney for added rear grip. Hudy 19mm professional bulkhead alignment tool Posted: 19 Dec 2018 05:13 AM PST Hudy have introduced their new professional bulkhead alignment tool for all 1/10th electric touring cars that use 19mm bulkhead spacing. The machined aluminium block and the includes steel pins allow to perfectly straighten the front and rear bulkhead assemblies during building and maintenance, ensuring a tweak-free assembly and thus a freer running drivetrain. The tool will be inserted between the left and right bulkhead sides with the spool and diff removed and the, bulkhead and upper clamp mounting screws slightly undone. With the inserted pins the screws are tightened again, the block will be removed and the drivetrain installed. The block is usable with all kits that use 19mm bulkhead spacing, such as the Xray T4. HB Racing RGT8-E 1/8th electric GT kit Posted: 19 Dec 2018 05:02 AM PST New from HB Racing is the RGT8-E 1/8 scale 4WD electric GT Class race car. Already a winner on the racetrack, a pre-production RGT8-E driven by HB team driver Rosario Giaimo took pole position and the A-Main win in the 1/8 Electric GT class at the 2018 European Championships. The RGT8-E is based on the race-proven features of the RGT8, and adds the blistering speed of electric power. The RGT8-E has a fully adjustable battery mounting system that can handle a wide variety of battery configurations. When using shorty packs, multiple mounting points allow to easily move the weight bias fore/aft to help tune the balance of the car. The batteries are held in place securely, and mounted directly on the chassis for the lowest CG possible. A two-piece CNC milled aluminium motor mount keeps the motor securely in place, and allows motor changes without having to readjust the gear mesh. The RGT8-E features a tough 3mm aluminium chassis with raised side guards, similar to the successful 1/8 D817 V2 buggy. The 7075 aircraft aluminium chassis adds durability, lowers the centre of gravity, dissipates motor heat, and helps dampen high frequency vibration. Moulded nylon side guards help keep out rocks and debris. The drivetrain uses a race-proven 4WD system with high strength steel centre drive shafts, tough sintered diff gears, precision machined steel input gears and spur gear, and machined aluminium wheel hubs. To decrease drivetrain rotating weight the steel spur gear is lightened, as are the diff outdrives and centre inputs. The centre bulkhead is split for quick and easy access to the centre differential. The RGT8-E suspension uses HB’s trademark monocoque suspension arms in a harder material as standard equipment, delivering precise suspension and handling response. The monocoque design gives racers the advantage of being able to fine tune the stiffness of the arms to match track conditions. The suspension features big bore threaded coil-over shock absorbers, front and rear sway bars, hinge pin inserts for easy toe-in and anti-squat settings, fine adjustment of the rear camber link locations, plus machined aluminium caster blocks, steering blocks and rear uprights. The steering system features an alloy servo saver arm, aluminium drag link, steel turnbuckles and woven carbon graphite steering arms on the steering blocks. Alternate arm mounts, steering blocks, caster blocks, steering arms, rear hub carrier arms and sway bars are all available to tune the RGT8-E to any track or driving style.
