Team Associated & Keven Hébert part ways Posted: 01 Jan 2019 12:49 AM PST Team Associated and Keven Hébert have parted ways for the 2019 season, AE have announced. The 6-times ROAR national champion and multi-time IFMAR Worlds finalist is a specialist in 1/10th touring and 1/12th pan car racing and he was with AE for the last 11+ years. However, 2018 marks the end of Keven’s racing career with Team Associated and Reedy and Keven has yet to announce his new chassis sponsors. In the middle of 2007 a young Canadian driver was looking for a new home after his previous sponsor pulled out of onroad racing. At the same time Team Associated was set to launch its first belt driven 1:10 touring car; the TC5. Thus, began an 11+ year relationship between Keven Hébert and Team Associated. With a specialization in foam tire racing, Keven had early success in both 1:10 and 1:12 carpet while he gained more outdoor asphalt rubber tire touring car experience. Over the years, touring car foam tire racing faded away and rubber tire racing became the standard and Keven successfully adapted his style to suit. Fast forward to 2018 and Keven has made multiple IFMAR World Championship finals, won six ROAR National titles, five Canadian National titles and multiple other National level events while driving for Team Associated and Reedy. Keven’s paint scheme would even be featured in Team Associated’s box art for the TC5F; our first kit dedicated to a specific racing surface. However, 2018 marks the end of Keven’s racing career with Team Associated and Reedy. While his smile and meticulous mechanic skills will be missed, we are sure to see him at the races competing for more podium finishes. Good luck Keven! JConcepts Finnisher D817T body shell Posted: 31 Dec 2018 12:45 PM PST Another new body shell coming out of the JConcepts labs is the Finnisher design body for the HB Racing D817T. The winner of the 2016 ROAR National Championship, the Finnisher body in the hands of Ryan Maifield is a proven racing commodity. JConcepts is here to support the 1/8th truck class with a Finnisher body which is a drop fit on to the HB Racing D817T nitro and E817T electric racing trucks. The lid incorporates pre-dimpled locations and with the slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance highlight a performance oriented core. A wide front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for the unique D817T/E817T shock geometry available using the #HB204425 front shock tower. The body incorporates a large centre fin which begins on the roof line and finishes just past the half-way point on the bed. Extended front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight while the supplied decals stand-out like an 18 wheeler. The Finnisher has a built-in air escape passage on the roof which allows the customer to fine-tune the body for maximum outdoor performance. The new body includes champion rear name plates which provide additional high-speed stability and improved positioning of the rear bed rails to strengthen the assembly. Overall handling has been improved by balancing the bias between the cab location and rear wing placement which control the majority of the aero affects of the aggressively styled body.
