Hobbytech Spirit NXT EP 6S 2.0 RTR buggy Posted: 23 Jan 2019 08:52 AM PST Hobbytech have introduced their new Spirit NXT EP 6S 2.0 1/8th scale ready-to-run E-Buggy. Designed for high speed bashing the buggy utilises ultra tough suspension components including a pivot ball front suspension design, it is equipped with sturdy shock towers, big bore aluminium shocks and powered by a waterproof 6S LiPo-compatible 150A speed controller and a 2000kV brushless motor. Other features include grippy tyres, a colourful bodyshell and a 2.4GHz radio system. Xray Racing Series Slovenia Rd3 – Report Posted: 23 Jan 2019 08:05 AM PST Round 3 of the 2018/19 Xray Racing Series Slovenia was held at the Genius Ring in Medeuzza. The event attracted driver from six different countries, Austria, Croatia, Germany, France, Italy and Slovenia and the track was run counter clockwise. Three classes, Touring 13.5T, Touring 21.5T and Formula 21.5T were offered, all using control XRS motors and Hudy tyres to make for a level playing field. In the popular 13.5T class the pole position went to B.A. Arnaldi after a close fight with Germany’s Jan Ratheisky while Edoardo Repetti put his car on P3 for the finals. In the mains it was a great battle between Jan and B.A., with B.A. winning A1, Jan winning the A2 and the third final again being won by B.A. for the overall. Jan had to settle for 2nd overall in front of Edoardo, making it an Xray 1-2-3. In Touring 21.5 it was Mirco Bordin on pole, followed by David Marosa and Samuele Papi. The overall victory then also went to the pole man Mirco Bordin, with Yokomo’s Samulele Papi coming in 2nd and ARC driver, David Marosa rounding out the podium. In the Formula 21.5 class it was Jan Ratheisky on pole, followed by Matej Dobnikar and Herfried Pucher. In finals, it was a fierce battle between Jan and Matej and at the end Matej held the upper hand in the final two mains for the overall from Xray teammate Jan. Shepherd’s Herfried Pucher came in 3rd to round out the podium. The fourth and final round will be held on the 24th of February, again at the Genius Ring in Medeuzza. Samix T4’19 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis set Posted: 23 Jan 2019 07:25 AM PST Samix have introduced their new 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis kit for the Xray T4’19 touring car. Of an updated design the chassis is made of matte finish carbon fibre and it offer additional mounting positions for the recently introduced optional brass front balance weights. On top of that the chassis comes with a black anodised aluminium fan mount for 40mm fan units. Nico Schmid wins at Swiss EP Off-road Nats Rd1 Posted: 23 Jan 2019 07:15 AM PST Round 1 of the Swiss 1/10th electric off-road nationals was held at the Race Arena Pfäffikon. In 4WD Buggy, much like last season, the Schmid brothers (both Xray) would dominate the field with Nico taking the win in front of his brother Florian as Yokomo’s Aaron Münster had to settle for 3rd overall. Xray Racing Series Greece Rd1 – Report Posted: 23 Jan 2019 07:04 AM PST The opening round of the 2019 Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens. The somewhat cold weather meant drivers had to adapt their car’s setups and in Modified Touring, it was Ioannidis who made the best out of the conditions in the qualifiers, but he was under pressure of Nikolakopoulos, who led most of A1 but a last lap mistake meant Ioannidis would take the win. A2 and it was again Ioannidis with the win as leg 3 had to be cancelled due to rain. Behind Dimitris Ioannidis and Nick Nikolakopoulos it was Chris Vasilopoulos with the 3rd place overall. Touring Stock saw a change from 17.5T to 13.5T and a new control tyre for 2019 and it was Dennis Zogogianis who adapted the best to the new conditions with George Kalantzakis coming in 2nd and Ioannis Nerantzis, who scored the fastest lap, rounding out the podium result. In Formula, very fast Chris Kidis won all legs for the overall victory as Chris Vasilopoulos obtained the runner-up spot. Sotiris Diamadis completed the podium result after some stiff competition in the changing wet and dry conditions. Nick Nikolakopoulos took the win in the 1/10th GT class despite facing some issues during the race. Amateur Chris Katsigianis ended on a fine 2nd place from podium returner George Kazoglou in 3rd. In 1/12th Pan Car it was an easy race for Kidis Christos. Sotiris Diamadis managed a fine 2nd place while Alex Savvakis made his first podium with a 3rd place. 1/8 GT was absolute fun. Loud nitro engines all around the big Fanatix track. Christos Tarounas won the 45-minutes main final. Alexandros Piperoglou came in 2nd with some minor problems and in 3rd, just two seconds behind, out was George Vasileiadis with his young sons as fast mechanics. R1 Wurks V21 1650 torque tuned rotor Posted: 23 Jan 2019 05:22 AM PST R1 Wurks have announced the launch of the new 1650 option rotor for the V21 line of motors. The selected rotors offers 1625 to 1650+ Gauss reading, which is slightly higher than the company’s stock rotors for improved torque. The ROAR-approved rotor, much like the 1650 for the V16, includes the needed shims, as well as a printout of the rotor’s gauss reading. Viljami Kutvonen sweeps at FinTrack Tour Rd2 Posted: 23 Jan 2019 05:04 AM PST Round 2 of the FinTrack Tour was held in Kuusankoski, Finland over the weekend. In the Touring Modified class it was Mugen’s Viljami Kutvonen who would make a clean sweep in the qualifiers and finals, taking the TQs in all four rounds of qualifying and coming out on top in A1 and A2 for the overall win. Team Associated driver, Karri Salmela came in 2nd from Xray’s Joel Valander in 3rd. Miko Teponoja and Georgy Chmigal completed the top 5 result.
