Xavier Deparde wins at SITCC Rd3 Posted: 14 Feb 2019 11:38 AM PST The SITCC season finale was hosted by the ERMC club and held in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland, attracting a good amount of entries. In the Touring Car class the overall TQ was decided in the final qualifiers when the track was at its fastest. Ultimately it was Xavier Deparde (Xray) with the pole position for the four A-mains. In the opening A-main the top qualifier would be able to get a gap on the field, however towards the end of the run Kevin Zwahlen (HB Racing) was able to close in on Xavier and the two would eventually run door to door for half a lap until Kevin managed to bring home the win. A2 then saw Xavier taking a pretty easy win, a couple of seconds in front of Kevin. A3 was again a pretty tight affair. Kevin and Xavier would pull a gap but it was Xavier who would bring home the win by 1.5 seconds. In the fourth and final A-main again the top 2 would open a gap on the field but Kevin went into an error, meaning Xavier would be able to cruise to the win with Kevin coming in 2nd overall as Cedric Ansermoz (Awesomatix) rounded out the overall top 3. JConcepts foam adhesive body washers Posted: 14 Feb 2019 06:56 AM PST Coming from JConcepts is a 12-piece set of foam washers for 1/10th scale body shells. They help protecting the area where initial damage starts to occur which is right around the body mount holes. The die-cut foam donut is adhesive backed to attach itself to the body and the foam cushions the landings from there. The soft but high-impact material allows some flexibility between the body and the setting distance to the mount protecting the paint from the inside out. Craig Collinson wins at Schumacher Master Series Rd6 Posted: 14 Feb 2019 05:59 AM PST Last weekend was the sixth round of the ever popular Schumacher Masters Series held at Worksop Raceway. With over 150 entries the competition was as tough as always. Xray’s Craig Collinson started the day with intent taking 4WD TQ in round 1 of qualifying, ahead of world class driver Neil Cragg (Team Associated). The next three qualifying rounds would see Neil top round 2 with Craig 2nd, Craig top round 3 with fellow team mate Dom Nunn 2nd and in round 4 Dom put in a storming run to take the round ahead of Craig. This meant Craig would take overall TQ with Xray driver Dom Nunn 2nd and in the 3rd spot would be Neil Cragg. In the final Craig got off to a clean start with Dom and Neil in hot pursuit. Unfortunately Dom made an early error allowing Neil to take the 2nd spot and young Schumacher driver Josh Holdsworth 3rd. Craig drove a faultless five minute final keeping his buggy on the racing line at all times, not allowing an opportunity for Josh or Neil to make a pass. In the end Craig took the win just in front of Josh and Neil. Source: Xray [teamxray.com] The post Craig Collinson wins at Schumacher Master Series Rd6 appeared first on Red RC - RC Car News. |
Xray Racing Series Greece On-road Rd2 – Report Posted: 14 Feb 2019 04:04 AM PST The second round of the Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens. Cold but sunny weather made for a great atmosphere and in Touring Modified it was front-runner Dimitris Ioannidis who showed up late due to having to write a chemistry test, however he once again took the top position overall to take the day’s win from Nick Nikolakopoulos and a surprisingly improved Chris Kidis who rounded out an all-Xray podium. The Stock 13.5T class was the most difficult category of the day with some drivers participating “outlaw” to test for the Grand Final in Slovakia. Dennis Zogogiannis finally came out successful and in front of former champion George Kalantzakis and 3rd placed Ioannis Nerantzis (all Xray), who had some unlucky moments with slower drivers. The fast 1/10th GT class was won by Chris Katsigianis (Xray) who left behind Petros Drakopoulos (Xray), who hardly races this class, and returning George Kazoglou (Xray).
Nitro Stock had a very different format with six rounds of 5-minute racing with the four best to count. Apostolis Zapantiotis (Capricorn) would bring home the win with three 1st place finishes in front of young Manos Kalantzakis (Xray). Sotiris Diamadis (Xray) followed with some glowplug issues as the winner of first round, Ventouris managed a 4th place. RC Maker touring car floating electronics plates Posted: 14 Feb 2019 01:50 AM PST RC Maker have introduced their new adjustable electronics mounting plates for most of today’s 1/10th electric touring cars. The floating brass mount with central attachment allows for fully floating electronics with absolutely minimal flex interference, giving symmetrical flex, which is not possible in conventional layouts. The plates make it incredibly easy to swap chassis plates, as electronics stay fixed to the plate, making it only two screws to swap all electronics over, without messing with tape. The unique design is making it very easy to swap between chassis manufacturers and try different plates all without having to buy entire new kits while offering left-to-right chassis balance adjustment. Different fastening inserts allow for even greater versatility without the need to buy a whole new set again. Same with changing to different plates and centre weights, they are all compatible with each-other. Beside the double-sided design, RC Maker also offers a single sided set with 4mm of adjustability left and right to adjust the balance bias of the car. Used for the electronics only it allows to tune the chassis balance, and also move weight in or out both sides to adjust the amount of roll in the chassis depending on the traction level. In addition to the brass double and single-sided sets, RC Maker also offer the brass plates separately to conversion double into single and single into double-sided designs. Optional carbon fibre option plates make for reduced overall mass if needed while an optional +10g centre weight adds further weight tuning options. Supported cars include the Yokomo BD8 and BD9, Xray T4 2017 to 2019, Team Associated TC7.1 and TC7.2, Tamiya TRF419X, Awesomatix A800X, Infinity IF14, Xpress XQ1, Mugen MTC1 and ARC R11’19. A full explanation of the design can be found here. Source: RC Maker [rcmaker.com] The post RC Maker touring car floating electronics plates appeared first on Red RC - RC Car News. |
