MRC Longwy Winter Series Rd3 – Report Posted: 20 Feb 2019 01:27 AM PST The third round of the MRC Longwy Winter Series was held at the French MRC Longwy club this past weekend in the usual classes of Touring Modified, Expert Stock, Stock and Formula. 80 entries made for some competitive racing and in the Touring Modified class it was Yokomo’s Ronald Völker with the TQ from Awesomatix driver, Loic Jasmin. In the opening two A-mains Ronald and Loic shared a win each but in A3 Ronald would seal the bag to take the day’s win from Loic in 2nd and Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix) in 3rd. Expert Stock saw Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) coming out on top after the qualifiers but after the triple A-mains it was Antoine Brunet with the overall from Hannes Soyke in 2nd and Manual Wagner in 3rd as Olivier had to settle for 6th overall after some troubled runs. In the popular Stock class it was Etienne Gosse with the TQ and win, leaving behind Sebastien Ribault in 2nd and Emilie Attardo in 3rd. Finally in the Formula it was again Olivier Bultynck with the TQ but again the TQ holder would be denied the win as Jaqcues Libar brought home the silverware from Olivier in 2nd and Andre Klink in 3rd. 2019 Scottish GT Regionals Rd2 – Report Posted: 20 Feb 2019 12:36 AM PST The second round of the BRCA Scottish GT Regionals took place last weekend at Grampian Radio Car Club near Aberdeen. A lower than expected entry didn’t detract from the friendly atmosphere and competitive racing. The Grampian track is the largest in the series and the host club laid a fast flowing track capitalising on the extra racing surface. Qualifying would see John Simpson secure pole with Andrew Edwards in 2nd. These two drivers are previous champions of the series and are currently sitting 2nd and 3rd in the championship so were looking to secure maximum points with the absence of the current series leader. Kenneth Rogers would line up third with Colin Leslie fourth and the remaining positions filled by James Eaves and Arthur McGinnis. Finals were run over three legs with two legs counting. In leg one early contact between Andrew and John would see them drop down the field and Kenneth take the lead. In a controlled drive Kenneth didn’t waste the opportunity and brought his car home in 1st place. After a race long battle John managed to pass James to finish in 2nd with James 3rd and Andrew recovering to 4th. In leg 2 John would have an unchallenged tone to tone win after early contact between Kenneth and Andrew split the field. Andrew would recover to 2nd and Colin finding some extra pace to finish in 3rd. So it was all to play for in leg three with a possible overall victory for John or Kenneth. A clean start followed by small mistakes by John and then Andrew allowed Kenneth to take the lead of the race. A superb pass by John half way through the race would see him take the win and the overall for the days racing. Kenneth and James had a very close race with James eventually coming home in 2nd with Kenneth 3rd. Andrew unfortunately dropping out of the running with a mechanical issue meant that Kenneth and James were 2nd and 3rd overall respectively. Final results: There was also a touring car support class which was won by Peter Eagles from Martin Inglis and Scott Bates. The next round of the series is held in two weeks and will see the series return to the Dundee club for the second time. Xray Racing Series Slovakia Rd5 – Report Posted: 20 Feb 2019 12:11 AM PST The fifth round of Xray Racing Series Slovakia took a place last weekend at the world-famous Hudy Racing Arena. The event saw around 170 entries for the off and on-road, making it the second biggest XRS ever. In the 2WD Buggy class Adam Izsay took his first pole position of the season with Martin Bayer in 2nd and Max Götzl in 3rd. Adam then had a good run in A1 and took the win as Martin made some mistakes. A2 then went to Martin as it was now Adam who made some mistakes, so it all came down to the decisive third and final A-main. Ultimately Adam took a tone to tone win and with it the overall in front of Martin and Max, making it an Xray 1-2-3. In 4WD it was as the usual suspect, Martin Bayer on the pole in front of Adam and Max. In the finals, Martin took wins in the opening two A-mains for the overall as Adam came in 2nd. Max, with a couple of stupid mistakes, had to settle for 3rd overall. In the Truck class it was Max Götzl on the pole position and in front of Kuba Krus and Lukasz Jedlinski. In the finals, Max took the wins in all three finals in front of Kuba and Lukasz, making it the third all-Xray off-road podium of the weekend. Over to on-road and in Touring Modified, all three qualifications were close but Martin Hudy took the overall TQ. Martin had some beautiful fights with Oliver Havranek in the first and second final but Oliver didn’t find the space to overtake him. In the third final Martin made a mistake and Oliver won this final, locking his overall runner-up spot in front of Marton Toth (all Xray). In the Touring Stock class Oliver Havranek would sweep the qualifiers for the overall TQ only to suffer from a big mistake in A1, meaning he only finished in 2nd place. A2 and A3 then went to the young man’s favour, as he took home the wins and overall victory from his fellow Xray drivers Mark Valent and Filip Obora. In the Formula class, Mark Valent took the overall TQ and he also dominated the finals to take the overall win from Werner Spannbruckner and Balint Rajki. In 1/10th Pan Car, Igor Liptak set the fastest time in the qualifiers to take the overall TQ and he also went on to dominate the finals to take home the silverware with Marek Helbich and Zoltan Polyak rounding out an all-Xray podium.
In 1/12 GT, Igor Liptak took his second TQ of the day and transformed it into another win. Branislav Panak and Jiri Vasica came in 2nd and 3rd respectively to round out another all-Xray top 3. SWorkz S35-3 pinion gear stopper set Posted: 19 Feb 2019 11:29 PM PST SWorkz have introduced a pinion gear stopper set for the S35-3 series vehicles. The 5x7x5.1mm crunch spacers ensure a smoother running drivetrain by filling the space between the inner input bearings. The defined space between them will prevent the ball races from binding, which results in a more free running drivetrain.
