Team Associated CR12 Tioga 1/12th scale trail truck Posted: 26 Feb 2019 09:55 AM PST Team Associated have introduced the CR12 Tioga 1/12th scale trail truck, the latest in AE’s line of CR12 series ready-to-run vehicles. The 4×4 rig comes RTR with Reedy Power electronics and meets S.O.R.R.C.A. class 1 and 2 rules right out of the box. No need to prep or build your rig; just charge it and you’re ready to hit the trails. Designed not only for scale looks with realistic wheels, tires and body, the CR12 is built for performance as well. The steel ladder frame chassis provides the perfect backbone for this rugged rig. The 4-link suspension, threaded shocks, and soft rubber tires give the grip and performance needed to climb over the roughest terrain. Transferring power to the rocks is a compact 3-gear transmission, plastic low-friction slider-type drive shafts, front steel CVA axles, and metal-shield ball bearings. The truck is rounded out by a molded rear cage with hinged body mount. 2018/19 RugRacers Rd5 – Report Posted: 26 Feb 2019 08:44 AM PST The fifth and penultimate round of the 2018/19 RugRacers series was held last weekend. The 13.5 Blinky Touring championship is set to go right to the wire. Paul Pinkney took the FTQ to make the finals really interesting, Ashley Wiffen would line up 2nd ahead of Tony Broad in 3rd with both drivers needing to maximise their scores for the championship. After two thrilling legs Tony came through to take the victory with Paul 2nd and Ashley 3rd. The championship going down to the last round to decide the 13.5 blinky championship where qualifying position could be crucial for the final outcome. In 17.5 Blinky Vasiliy Siminov continued his impressive performances to again lock out FTQ ahead of Matt Worton and Dani Young. The finals would run a prefect lights to flag victory for Vasiliy with Phil Randall coming home in 2nd place from 8th on the grid and Stephen Smith from 10th place to round out the podium. The final result would also see Vasiliy take the championship with one round to spare. Trucks were out next with championship winner, U17 Adam Southgate stamping his authority across qualifying going fastest in three rounds with Ethan Southall (U13) taking one. The finals would see two lights to flag victories but not without many incidents shuffling the order a bit, although they made for close finishes. Ultimately it was Adam Southgate with newcomer Chris Kemp coming in 2nd ahead of Kyle Hill pushing down 3rd place man Chris Seamen. MTC was first out to track with another full field of drivers, Champion Mark Young would be looking to build on his recent success but would have no easy ride with Remo Casadei and young Joseph pushing him hard. Remo would be the man to take FTQ ahead of Joseph and Mark. Over the finals both front runners hit trouble but that didn’t stop the youngster Joseph Moore from taking both legs to take the win with Graham Coulter coming in 2nd and Ian Smith locking the final place of the podium. The GT12 championship was also resolved with Owen Smith out to stretch it further. Qualifying would see Owen take pole ahead of Jake Vincent (U17) and his sister Darcie Smith (U13). The finals would see Jake take the overall victory ahead of Owen and Nick Upton up from 5th. The series returns for the final round on the 17th of March along with the prize giving and lollipop throwing. Jon Howells wins at Winter Series Rd5 Posted: 26 Feb 2019 07:42 AM PST The Ledbury Model Car Club held round 5 of their Winter Series last weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Chris Lovell (HB Racing) with the overall TQ after the qualifiers, however in the 15-minute A-main event it was Team Associated’s Jon Howells with the win some 22 seconds in front of Chris Lovell. Lloyd Pitt (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 podium result less than a second behind runner-up Chris. Yannick Aigoin wins at Agathoise Race Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:27 AM PST The Agde track in the south of France held the Agathoise Race this past weekend. More than 100 drivers signed in to compete at the event that was held in perfect conditions and on an amazing track. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Yannick Aigoin, who only attended the electric class due to having no mechanic, who took the win from Ludovic Loupias in 2nd and up and coming Remy Bermudez in 3rd. Xray XB4 low height front & rear springs Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:21 AM PST Xray have announced the release of new low height front and rear springs for the XB4 off-road buggies. The 42mm front and 57mm rear springs are 3mm shorter compared to the previous 45mm and 60mm variants, allowing for lower read heights when running in high grip track conditions. The springs are available as softer “2 dot” to harder “4 dot” variants and they are manually measured, selected and matched into pairs to guarantee precisely equal length and damping characteristics. This wheelie bar will stop the Jumpshot truck from flipping over when using full throttle, and it features adjustable mounting that will allow to alter the wheelie angle so drivers can pull perfect wheelies every time. The set includes everything needed to assemble and install a unique wheelie bar on the rear of the Jumpshot MT or ST and it will also fit the Jumpshot SC with the removal of the rear bumper. Lucas Fischer wins at Erzgebirgs Cup Rd4 Posted: 25 Feb 2019 11:49 PM PST Round 4 of the Erzgebirgs Cup was held in Gelenau, Germany this past weekend. The event is held in several electric on-road classes and in Touring Stock it was VBC Racing driver Lucas Fischer with the win from Xray’s Stefan Schulz on the 2 spot, who also set a new lap record.
