WRC Racing F18.2 shock absorber extension Posted: 07 Mar 2019 10:24 AM PST WRC Racing have introduced a centre shock extension kit for the F18.2 formula car. Machined from aluminium and coming black anodised and including an additional pivot ball the extension allows to attach the shock to the upper servo plate, effectively lengthening the shock for better drivability over bumps and improved on-power traction especially in low-traction conditions. Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions – Announcement Posted: 07 Mar 2019 08:59 AM PST The organisers of the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions have announced that Steel City Speedway in Fontana, California will be the new home for the prestigious event following last year’s closure its former location, the Aliso Viejo based Tamiya Raceway. The 2019 edition will take place from the 23rd to 26th of May and due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, total entries are capped at 170 for the Open classes. This year, the Sportsman and Expert spec classes will be powered by 13.5-turn Reedy 540-FT fixed-timing handout motors to even the playing field and reduce costs. The Modified class will remain unchanged, with the winner receiving the honor of competing in the Invitational class in 2020. Full details can be found here and here. Other features include a composite 3-needle carburettor, 5-port sleeve as well as the R7 lightweight aluminium conrod. The long stroke engine also sports a new cooling head design and it is available now. Losi Ford Raptor Baja Rey 1/10th 4×4 RTR truck Posted: 07 Mar 2019 07:08 AM PST Losi have announced the soon release of their new Ford Raptor Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD ready-to-run desert truck. Officially licensed, it comes equipped with a 3S LiPo-compatible Dynamite 3800kV brushless power system, as well as a solid rear axle, independent front suspension, and roll cage with upright shocks, so owners can tear across all types of rocky off-road terrain. They’ll do so with the full-throttle freedom of the AVC technology and just like the full scale Ford Raptor, the on-board traction control allows racers to fly across the desert, parks or parking lots at speeds in excess of 80km/h all while in complete control and completely dialled in. Modellers also get an authentic off-road racing experience with injection moulded details, light bars and two licensed trim schemes. Included with the factory-assembled truck comes the Spektrum DX2E Active radio system for glitch-free control of this beast. The truck is set for a release in April. Machined from high-quality material and coming black anodised the tray features four machined small parts compartments, 4mm and 5mm pockets to hold bullet-type connectors during soldering, it comes with an engraved ruler and an interchangeable shock stand or tool holder platform. Exotek F1 IFS V2 front end set Posted: 07 Mar 2019 12:43 AM PST Exotek have introduced the V2 variant of they F1 IFS front end kit for the Tamiya TRF102, the F104 and Exotek F1R3. New V2 IFS set includes wider heavy duty machined delrin arms that add 2mm per side, precision machined delrin shock pistons and HD steering pins. With our IFS suspension the handling of the car becomes much more linear with real body roll characteristics which means owners can drive harder into a corner while maintaining stability and confident road holding performance which translates to improved overall race time results and consistency. The front end excels in rough and bumpy track conditions and tames all high speed asphalt tracks by making the car glide through all sections. Like a touring car the IFS let’s drivers attack corners without fear of getting pitched out of the groove which typically happens with conventional Formula cars. Xray Racing Series Finland – Report Posted: 07 Mar 2019 12:03 AM PST The inaugural Xray Racing Series Finland was held at the Fullspeed RC track in Vantaa recently. The race was held on the same track layout as the national a couple of weeks ago which ensured good grip right from the start. The finals would be held in a slightly different format with the finishing order of A1 would mark the starting grid for A2 and so on. In the end it was Team Associated’s Karri Salmela with the overall win in the Touring Modified class from Xray’s Joel Valander in 2nd. Schumacher’s Pekko Iivonen came in 3rd. Over in the Pro Stock class Leevi Martikainen brought home the silverware from Heinonen Arto 2nd and Lasse Ilvessalo 3rd.
