TMG Speed YZ-2 CAL2 LCG shock towers Posted: 11 Mar 2019 11:58 AM PDT Coming from TMG Speed and made for the Yokomo YZ-2 CAL2 2WD buggy are low centre of gravity carbon fibre shock towers. The lower-than-stock front variant is designed especially for racing on EOS style carpet while the rear offers a revised geometry for the use with YZ-2T front shocks. Both are of a lower design for an overall lower centre of gravity and cut from high-quality carbon fibre. Roberto De Cesare wins at Enneti Trophy Posted: 11 Mar 2019 09:36 AM PDT The Trofeo Enneti was held at the Club Automodellistico 5 Colli trac in Gubbio, Italy this past weekend. Run in 1/8th and 1/10th on-road classes the event attracted some of the country’s fastest on-road drivers and in 1/8th IC Track it was Dante Piersante with the overall TQ from Roberto De Cesare in 2nd. In the 30-minute main final Roberto was able to bring home the win some five seconds in front of Dante in 2nd as Gianmarco Di Febo completed the top 3 podium result some three laps down. Chris Lovell takes Winter Series title Posted: 11 Mar 2019 08:05 AM PDT 42 drivers attended the final round of the Winter Series at a windy Brookthorpe track with all three steps on the overall Winter Series able to change. Jon Howells (Team Associated) took the initiative and first round of qualifying. Chris Lovell (HB Racing) took the 2nd and 3rd with Jon taking the final round, giving Jon overall TQ on countback. Onto the A-final Jon rolled it on the first corner with Chris rolling at on the next corner. Throughout the race both drivers had challenges which ended up with them together on the last lap. Chris Lovell managed to hold on for the win, with Jon Howells 2nd and an excellent drive by Will Day to take his first A-final podium. The results meant that Chris Lovell (HB Racing) won the series, with Jon Howells (Team Associated) 2nd and Jake Knight (Tekno) 3rd. In the juniors Will Day (TLR) took top spot, with Rowan Ainsbury (JQRacing) 2nd and Jake Westwood (TLR) 3rd. Isaacs & Hebert win at ROAR Carpet Nats Posted: 11 Mar 2019 07:25 AM PDT The 2019 ROAR Electric On-Road Carpet Nationals were hosted by ProLevel RC of Chesterfield, Missouri this past weekend. The event was held in the usual mix of rubber and foam tyre classes and in the premier Touring Modified category it was Sam Isaacs with the TQ and win from Kyle Klingforth in 2nd. Brandon Clements, Chris Adam and Keven Hebert all matched their qualifying positions to round out the top 5 results. In Touring 17.5T Super Stock it was Kyle Klingforth with the TQ and win from 2nd place qualifier, Brandon Clements. 3rd place qualifier, Robbie Dodge came in 3rd to round out the podium in front of Arthur Scrimo and Mike Gee. In the Formula 25.5T class it was John Barron with the TQ and win from Scott McDonald and Chris Lockart. Justin Hengelfelt and John Newlon would complete the top 5 results. 1/12th scale Modified had new Xray-signing, Keven Hebert taking home the championship from pole position. Sam Isaacs came in 2nd, Max Kuenning completed the top 3 result. In 1/12th 13.5T Jeff Dayger would deny TQ John Wiita the overall win with the two swapping qualifying positions. Max Kuenning took his second podium result from Eric Anderson 4th and Kevin Van Ert 5th. Picard & Delaunay win at French 1/8th On-road opener Posted: 11 Mar 2019 06:48 AM PDT The opening round of the French 1/8th On-road National Championship was held in Ingrandes sur Vienne this past weekend. The weather mixed things up during the weekend and in the Elite category it was Christophe Louis who would male the best out of the conditions, taking the overall TQ while in the Electric Pan Car class it was Stephane Bouche who set the fastest time. Moving on to the finals and in the Elite class it was Romain Picard brought home the win in the Elite final in front of John Ermen on the runner-up spot and Anthony Abisset in 3rd. Over in the Electric class it was Romain Delaunay with the win from John Ermen 2nd and Stephane Bouche 3rd. Adam Drake sweeps Grassroots Race Series Rd3 Posted: 11 Mar 2019 05:09 AM PDT The Palm Desert RC Raceway held round 3 of the Grassroots Race Series this past weekend. Open Nitro Buggy saw Mugen’s Adam Drake walking away with the TQ and Adam would also bring home the win in the 20-minute A-main event, taking the overall victory two laps in front of Anthony Westergaard. HB Racing’ Cole Jenson would end the race on the 3 spot, some 7.6s behind Anthony. In the Open E-Buggy category Anthony Westergaard took the overall TQ but again it was Adam Drake with the overall win, leaving behind Anthony in 2nd some 6.9s down. Cole Jenson again snatched the final podium spot, two laps behind Adam and Anthony. Over in the Nitro Truggy class Adam Drake completed a clean sweep, taking home the TQ and win from Ryan Reese. French EP Off-road Nationals Rd1 – Report Posted: 11 Mar 2019 04:25 AM PDT The opening round of the French 1/10th electric off-road national championship was hosted by the Sport RC 56 club in Merlevenez this past weekend. In the 2WD Mod Buggy class it was Mathieu Briere with the overall TQ after the five rounds of qualifying, leaving behind Julien Formentin and Clement Boda in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the triple A-mains however young Team Associated talent Clement would excel, and by winning A1 and A2 he would take the overall victory early and with one leg to spare. Yokomo’s Julien Formentin and Team Associated’s Julien Parnot could come in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The 4WD Mod Buggy class was TQ’ed by Team Corally’s Thomas Musso who left behind Mathieu Briere in 2nd with the two being tie on points. The A-main finals then again saw Thomas Musso on top of things, however Mathieu had to settle for 5th overall as Thomas Anger (Xray) and Clement Boda (Team Associated) snatched the final podium spots on front of Arnaud Matohanza. Finally in the Stadium Truck class it was Yokomo’s Julien Formentin with the TQ from Team Associated’s Julien Parnot and the two would also make up the top 2 after the triple A-mains as Arnaud Matohanza (Xray) completed the top 3 result. Renaud Savoya sweeps Charmes Cup Posted: 11 Mar 2019 04:09 AM PDT The MACCR track in France held the annual Charmes Cup this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was TLR’s Renaud Savoya with the TQ and also the win in the 45-minute A-main event. Two laps behind Xray’s Vincent Meertens obtained the runner-up spot as HB Racing’s David Naldini came in 3rd to round out the podium.
