Exotek Racing WR8 Flux speed chassis conversion

Posted: 27 Mar 2019 09:24 AM PDT

Exotek Racing have announced the release of a high speed carbon fibre chassis conversion set for the HPI WR8 Flux Gymkhana 1/8 4WD rally car. The extra light weight conversion that removes all of the unneeded parts and hardware that transforms the WR8 into a super streamlined and race worthy performance chassis, scrubbing about 220g of weight compared to the stock set up. The rigid but very light weight carbon fibre chassis is mated to a reinforced alloy nose plate for durability and the optimised weight balance via extra mounting holes allows the motor and battery to be mounted at the rear of the chassis for improved rear traction and jumping balance. Alloy battery cups are multi-positioned to allow front or rear and left or right weight balance which is great for 2S or 3sS battery positioning using hard case batteries. Finally, the chassis is topped off with an alloy centre chassis brace and alloy servo mounts to also improve on lowering the overall centre of gravity.

Pro-Line introduce new Wedge & Prism 1/10 buggy tyres

Posted: 27 Mar 2019 03:22 AM PDT

Pro-Line have announced the release of three new carpet and astro turf tyres for 1/10th scale buggies. First up is the Wedge LP 4WD front tyre that uses the popular Wedge tread that provides lots of steering without being too grabby while the lower profile tyre shape provides better corner speed and faster lap times. The tyre is also more user-friendly because it doesn’t require any hand trimming of pins for optimum performance. The overall size of the low-profile 4WD front Wedge is a better match to Pro-Line’s new low-profile Prism 2.0 and Pyramid rear tyres so drivers don’t have to worry about unequal tyre runout front to rear.

Next up is the all-new Prism 2WD front carpet tyre. The Prism 2WD front features tons of ultra-sharp Prism shaped pins in the middle of the tyre combined with Wedge style pins on the outside for exceptional steering on small and tight carpet tracks without the edgy feel of full pin tyres. The pins on the Prism are slightly smaller than the original Pin Point tyre but there are many more of them, which results in faster and more consistent lap times. The Prism pins have been positioned with the knife edge pointed front to back and side to side for maximum grip and stay sharp even as they wear down.

Last but not least is the all-new Prism 2.0 buggy rear tyre. The tread features even more ultra-sharp Prism-shaped pins when compared to the original for longer lasting tread and more consistent performance. The Prism 2.0 features a new lower profile tyre carcass shape that lowers the car’s centre of gravity for improved corner speed. The Prism pins are positioned with the knife edge pointed front to back and side to side for maximum grip and stay sharp even as they wear down. The new tyre also features directional side tread so drivers can tune the performance of the tyres to the current track conditions. Drivers can choose to mount the standard Prism pins on the outside for more aggressive grip, or they can mount the vertical side pins to the outside for more forgiving grip. All of the above tyres are available in Z3 medium or Z4 soft rubber compound.
