| MIP Bypass1 1/8th AE & TLR shock pistons Posted: 11 Apr 2019 11:33 AM PDT MIP’s popular Bypass1 1/8th scale off-road shock pistons are soon also available in dedicated variants for Team Associated and TLR 1/8th off-road kits. Just like MIP’s Mugen-specific Bypass1 pistons, the AE and TLR spec pistons are fully customisable and allow to truly control the car’s rebound speed and performance. The pistons are also dyno-tuned to ensure they match the compression characteristics of the stock pistons. Featuring MIP colour-coded valves, the pistons combined together with the valves allow fully to control and maximise the car’s shocks performance based on which valves used. Thicker valves generate a slower rebound and thinner vales get quicker rebounds. Each set includes four pistons and a total of twelve valves, four of each hardness. | Brad Collins doubles at 2019 PNB Posted: 11 Apr 2019 08:11 AM PDT Last weekend’s 2019 Psycho Nitro Blast was held at the Walter State Expo Centre in White Pine, Tennessee. The unique event with 24 hours of practice is quite exhausting but rewarding at the same time. In Open Nitro Truggy it was Cody Saner with the overall TQ, however in the end it was Brad Collins with a popular win. Brad started 14th on the grid and was a little nervous the first few laps knowing he was faster than 14th, trying to get around all the traffic was getting under his skin. Collins stayed calm with the help of Chris Lowe on the mic and was able to have a clean start and with a good joker lane strategy he was able to come out in front by 2/3 of the race and lead the rest of the way to take the title in front of Shane Barrier and Michael Percell. Shawn Fraser and Cody Saner would round out the top 5. Brad Collins has set the overall TQ in Open E-Buggy qualifying and in the 10-minutes A-main final he was able to pull off to a 21 second lead in the first half but about gave it away in the last few laps with his first mistakes being all at the end Brad would only end up holding on to the top spot by 0.4 of a second from Bryan Kara in 2nd. Ben Pinover came in 3rd, Cowboy Risser ended in 4th and Travis Jones rounded out the top 5. | Kyosho Fazer Mk2 aluminium shock set Posted: 11 Apr 2019 07:39 AM PDT Coming for Kyosho’s Fazer Mk2 intermediate-level touring car chassis is an aluminium shock absorber set. Replacing the standard plastic dampers the shock set includes machined threaded body shock absorbers for improved dampening and thus better traction and easier and more precise ride height adjustment. Included with the set comes a pair of colour-coded springs. The latter are also part of an optional spring set that includes standard hardness medium as well as soft and super soft springs, allowing to adapt the chassis to lower grip tracks. Axial recreates the forward cab look in a body with many military-inspired scale features. It has a full-scale truck’s aggressive approach and departure angles. Also included are military-style 1.9 MW19 beadlock wheels and 1.9 MT45 tyres, as well as a functional spare tyre. The kit’s off-road performance more than does justice to the vehicles that provide its all-terrain inspiration. Its tried-and-true SCX10 transmission combines scale looks with the durability of all-metal internal gears. A full set of ball bearings is included. A 2-speed gear set is available separately, for builders who’d like to install a functional low/high speed transmission. Along with adding scale realism, the AR44 single-piece axles feature a high-pinion design with a much lower gear ratio than most cars on the market, plus increased strength. It also avoids the torque twist often associated with smaller gear sets. And like the transmission and axle designs, the kit’s chassis-mounted steering servo boosts its scale looks — while at the same time, supplying the correct steering geometry with virtually no bump steer.
