Xray XT8 1/8th nitro truggy – Coming soon

Xray have announced the soon release of their new XT8 1/8th nitro truggy kit. No official details about the 2019 variant are available yet, but as usual they will surface in time for the official release which will take place very soon.

Sam Langer sweeps 2019 Quebec Indoor Nats

The 2019 Quebec Indoor Nationals were hosted by the Bego Racing RC Raceway this past weekend. The event was held in a variety of 1/8th and 1/10th scale classes and it would be Sam Langer who would sweep the Nitro Buggy, E-Buggy and E-Truggy categories. Jerome Treignier took the TQ in Nitro Buggy, however in the 30-minute main final it was Sam Langer with the win some two laps in front of David Lecuyer in 2nd and Jerome Treignier in 3rd.

Over in the E-Buggy class it was Sam with the overall TQ and after coming in 2nd in the opening A-main, Langer would take wins in A2 and A3 for the overall in front of A1 winner, Damian Lamy and 6th place qualifier, Pascal Gelinas in 3rd. In the E-Truggy class it was again Sami Langer with the overall TQ and with wins in A1 and A3 he would seal a title trifecta, leaving behind Pascal Gelinas in 2nd and Wesley Gurr in 3rd.

ULTI Cup South Korea – Report

The South Korean Icheon RC Circuit played host to the ULTI Cup last weekend. In the 1/8 IC Track class Ki Heung Kim took the TQ honors and also the win in front of Jae Kook Yoo and Byeongho Seo, coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the 1/8 EP class young female racer Nayeon Lee took a popular win, leaving behind Jaewon Kim and Jeongho Kim with the top 2 being separated by only a second. Over in the 1/10 GP Touring class Min Hee Lee brought home the win in front of Haejun Park and Jeongho Kim in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Drake & Westergaard win at Grassroots Race Series Rd5

Round 5 of the 2019 Grassroots Race Series was held at the Pro-Line track in Banning, California. The event attracted nearly 120 entries and in Open Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the TQ and win from HB Racing’s Cole Jenson 2nd and TLR’s Anthony Westergaard in 3rd.

The Open Nitro Truggy class saw Anthony Westergaard walking away with the win from Adam Drake on the 2 spot while Open E-Buggy was TQ’d and won by Adam Drake from Cole Jenson 2nd and Anthony Westergaard in 3rd.

Adam Fikri wins Malaysia Saudi RC Federation Race

The Putrajaya Offroad RC track of Putrajaya, Malaysia played host to the Malaysia Saudi RC Federation Race this past weekend. JQRacing’s Adam Fikri took the TQ in the 1/8th Nitro buggy class and he also brought home the win in the 60-minute main final, leaving behind Serpent’s Mizan in 2nd place, while Kent Sung completed the top 3 result. Team Associated’s James Khoo and Mugen driver Meshaal Alnowaser came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Awesomatix roll out new optionals

Awesomatix have introduced a range of new option parts for their A800 and A700 touring car platforms. First up are new +9.0 and +8.0 alloy suspension arms for the A800X LA long arm chassis. The +9.0 variants were developed for the front of the car while the +8.0 arms are used in the rear. The alloy A-arms offer improved rigidity and less flex, making them ideal especially for high to very high bite surfaces, when running in high ambient temperatures, and on US-style tracks with hard track boards where the arms offer improved durability. The arms are available separately or as a convenient combo including two 9.0 and two 8.0 arms.

Next up are new material “V” O-rings for the GD2 diff, the D2.2 damper output shaft and the D2.2 damper housing. All are made using a new rubber material that offers greater durability and less leaking issues when being exposed to silicone oil. The new-type O-rings are easily recognizable by their brownish colour. Last but not least are the new 39mm turnbuckles. The updated links are best used as an AT14 replacement and in the rear of the car where the toe-in turnbuckles go deeper into the P13-4 ball cups, ensuring greater security in the event of a crash. The turnbuckles come in sets of two.

Delorme & Limoges win at French On-road Champs Rd2

The second round of the French Electric On-road Championship was held at the Longvic track over the weekend. In the Touring Stock class it was Pierre Delorme with the win from Briac Berthoud on the 2 spot and Julien Jost in 3rd. Over in the Formula class it was Jeremy Limoges who brought home the silverware from Willy Voisangrin 2nd and Varinard Jean-Michel 3rd.

RC Maker Awesomatix GeoCarbon battery mount set

RC Maker have introduced their new GeoCarbon series battery mount set for the Awesomatix A700 and A800 touring cars. A direct replacement for the Awesomatix P23 and AM12X parts the set is 50 percent lighter at only 0.8g each and the set includes 3mm spacers to raise the hook to increase support and prevent scratching on asphalt. The parts are machined from high-quality glossy finish 3K 3mm carbon fibre and they are highly adjustable for different batteries and battery positions.

Rayan Medjoubi wins French 1/8th Buggy Nats Rd1

The Mini Auto Club Andelysien played host to round 1 of the French 1/8th Nitro Buggy national championship this past weekend. The top qualifying spot went to TLR’s Renaud Savoya, however in the A-main it was Kyosho’s Rayan Medjoubi who would prevail, taking the win after a tough fight with Renaud. TLR’s Tom Robin would round out the podium in front of 4th placed Thomas Musso (Mugen) and 5th placed Vincent Meertens (Xray).

T-Works S35-3 titanium & golden screw sets

T-Works have expanded their range of optional fastener sets by two kits for the popular SWorkz S35-3 buggy. Available are a 153-piece 64 grade titanium UFO head and a 181-piece gold-colour steel screw set. The titanium fasteners will add visual impact and lower the overall weight compared to the standard steel screws while the gold-coloured set will retain the car’s weight but it adds a luxurious touch and corrosion resistance. Both screw kits are available now.
