Good morning,
Reddit users demanded action to the company's CEO in an open letter they published yesterday. The letter was signed by 200 subreddits, which claimed to represent 200 million users.
Among the demands made in the open letter to the company were to broaden the language acceptable on the site and outright ban “racism, slurs, and hate speech targeted at protected groups.”
Similarly, a group of former and current moderators criticized Facebook's decision to not remove a post from President Trump. And elsewhere online, the extent in which Twitter is adding fact check labels to misinformation from accounts is already being put to the test.
What's your favorite treat? If you said cookies... do I have a surprise for you. Take a gander at this video that explains how they work (the digital ones, at least). As Ronan Shields penned, "it's less of a death and more of an evolution."
If the evolution could include a tasty oatmeal recipe finding its way to my inbox, I'd be tickled. You can find me (for most musings you're inclined to share) at sara.jerde@adweek.com.
If we don't chat there, see you here this time tomorrow.
