Ernest E. Allen, ARM, CSP, CPHRM, CHFM, is account executive of the Patient Safety Department of The Doctors Company, Northeast Regional Office of Ohio. He also is a private consultant on life safety at hospitals across the country. He has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including working as a Joint Commission life safety surveyor and serving as a safety and security director at a 500-bed hospital in Cleveland.
