Dear Friends,

As we gear up for harvest season and the delights of fall, I wanted to share with you some summer updates from Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery.

With just a few weeks left of summer, now is the perfect time to fire up your grill and try our delicious new recipe for yogurt-marinated shrimp. With a bit of preparation the night before you can have this on the table in minutes.

We wrapped up a successful tour season at the original Redwood Hill Farm goat dairy, with a revamped program that offers intimate, hands-on educational experiences. We are now taking reservations for Fall 2017. Reserve your spot here

On our blog, we take you inside the induction ceremony for the Guilde International des Fromagers, an international cheese society I was honored to be invited to join earlier this year.

And have you ever wanted to know why goats tend to have a mysterious look in their eyes? We explain in our latest blog piece.

From everyone here at Redwood Hill Farm, we wish you happiness and good health!

Warm regards,
Jennifer

Redwood Hill Farm's expanded 2017 tour dates make it more convenient than ever to visit. At these smaller educational tours, you’ll get to meet the goats and learn how to milk, brush, and feed them. In addition, you’ll learn about the many other crops and animals that thrive at the farm, including chickens, bees, Gravenstein apples, hops, and olives. You can also bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy in the apple orchard after the tour.

Inside an Elite Cheese Making Society

While some of us consider all cheese makers to be saints, there’s only one patron saint of cheese making: Saint Uguzon. In January 2017, Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery Founder Jennifer Bice was inducted into an elite international order named for the saint, the Guilde International des Fromagers and Confrérie de Saint-Uguzon.

Ever notice goats have rectangular pupils? Here’s why

If you’ve ever seen eye-to-eye with a goat, you may have noticed something different. Some people may even find their gaze outright unsettling. That’s because the goats’ pupils are horizontal—not circular like ours, or vertical like a cat’s.
