Refining company moving its HQ to downtown Baton Rouge

Louisiana and Texas often compete for jobs in the petroleum sector. Yesterday, Placid Refining company announced that it would be moving its headquarters from Dallas to Baton Rouge as part of a $66 million project that also involves big upgrades to its Port Allen refinery. 

Here's what the move means for our area, why the company made the switch, and what local economic leaders think the impact could be.
