A man who was shot on a Bangor road Tuesday night was walking back to his hotel after dinner, prosecutors said. New details of the shooting came out during the alleged shooter’s first court appearance Wednesday.

Finding jobs is no longer the biggest barrier to helping refugees settle in Bangor and Maine. Employers now approach Catholic Charities Maine, but the lack of housing is creating a new challenge for the nonprofit looking to settle for 150 refugees in Bangor over the next year.

A New Camden restaurant will serve a rotating menu of small plates. The eatery, called Winona’s, will accommodate just six parties at a time and only serve dinner by reservation.

Republican Austin Theriault is leading U.S. Rep. Jared Golden in the first public poll of their 2nd District race. The survey shows a poor electoral environment for the Democratic incumbent, despite Golden winning in 2018 and 2020, when former President Donald Trump carried the district.

The same poll found Mainers split on whether to replace the state flag. Voters will decide in November if Maine will change its flag to something similar to the original pine tree design.
