Register Now For 2023 Trust In Food Symposium Happening January 23-24 In Nashville

Congratulations! If you’re reading this, you’ve successfully wrapped up 2022 (or are nearly there), and you're preparing for a rewarding 2023. For those of us in climate-smart agriculture, it has been a landmark year. There’s no evidence there will be diminishing opportunities in the months ahead. If anything, there will be more chances to put billions of dollars of investment to work in the field on behalf of farmers, ranchers and the public.

If you’re looking for a great way to start your year off right, I hope you’ll register to join me at the 2023 Trust In Food Symposium in Nashville from Jan. 23-24. Now in its sixth year, this event is custom-tailored to climate-smart ag leaders seeking to grow their knowledge and amplify their impact. Under the leadership of Trust In Food’s Director of Climate-Smart Content David Frabotta, our team has planned a world-class event featuring sessions and speakers such as:

  • The Unprecedented Opportunity in Climate-Smart Agriculture with Terry Cosby, chief of USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service

  • Innovative Finance and Risk Management For Climate-Smart Agriculture with Cristian Barcan, vice president and sustainability officer, Rabo AgriFinance; Sally Flis, senior manager of North America sustainable ag & carbon, Nutrien Ag Solutions; and Scott Herndon, president, Field to Market

  • Top Producer Panel Discussion featuring large-farm operation executives and Sara Schafer, editorial director, Farm Journal's Top Producer and Top Producer Summit

  • Making Carbon Markets Work For Producers with Chad Ellis, CEO, Texas Agricultural Land Trust and founding chair, Trust In Beef™; Mitchell Hora, founder and CEO, Continuum Ag; Liz Hunt, head of sustainable and responsible business, Syngenta

  • Reimaging Food Supply Chains Amid Regenerative Agriculture with Rob Dongoski, partner, EY Agriculture

As Zig Ziglar once said, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” Whatever your aims for the New Year, participating in the Symposium will help you evaluate those objectives against the real-world lived experiences of farmers and ranchers. It will invite you to challenge preconceptions, adapt your goals and prepare to make the most of the relationships and resources available to you.

Are you ready for a successful 2023 doing work that matters? Register now for the 2023 Trust In Food Symposium and prepare to accelerate your climate-smart gameplan. I look forward to spending time with you and your team in the Music City!

Yours in regenerative ag,
Amy Skoczlas Cole
President, Trust In Food™

By David Frabotta, director of climate-smart content, Trust In Food: Cattle producers continue to make progress across the world in their care of animals, grazing management, water conservation and more, according to the latest update on the state of sustainable beef. “We recognize that one of the common threads that unites the industry and gives our organization strength is the culture of cattle producers, whether they call themselves gauchos, cowboys or cattlemen,” Global Roundtable President Ian McConnel and Executive Director Ruaraidh Petre write in their opening letter. “The no-nonsense attitude that gets things done, combined with a healthy skepticism of change for change’s sake. The strength of character to defend our actions when needed, but also to work hard each and every day to be better.”

By Stephanie Mercier, senior policy adviser, Farm Journal Foundation: If you’re looking for a quick explainer U.S. agriculture’s growing role at the recent COP27 event, this guide will help. “Scientific knowledge about the climate benefits of so-called climate-smart agricultural practices has been advanced considerably in the last few decades,” Mercier writes. “However, there is much more that needs to be done, especially in the area of providing accurate yet inexpensive techniques for measuring carbon accumulation in soils.”
