Midlands nonprofits receive $113,000 in grants

The Cayce Arts District will use a $63,000 grant to create a downtown arts district, while the Central Midlands Justice Ministry MORE Justice project will use a $50,000 grant to train grassroots leaders.

State Christmas tree arrives in Columbia

The 35-foot concolor fir arrived from a tree farm in Maryland on Tuesday morning. More than 13,000 lights will be strung and 900 ornaments hung on the tree before it is lit during a Nov. 24 ceremony.
