Remembering a missing child. Bike lane backpedaling?

By Bob Warren

Missing: Over the summer we watched as folks combed a section of Jean Lafitte National Park on the west bank of Jefferson Parish for a missing child. The 4-year-old boy was never found. A group gathered at the park Sunday for a vigil.

Backpedaling? Thoughts on those bike lanes around New Orleans? The City Council last week agreed to take another look at some of the bike lanes around Algiers, prompted by some complaints from residents.

Crime talk: More talk on crime today. New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams and a number of others were scheduled to come before the City Council. We're covering it, of course. Here's some background from last week, after the council spent several hours questioning NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson about his crime fighting plan.

So Eli's a maybe: Finally, Eli Apple, the former Saints defensive back who now does his thing with the Bengals, doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about Saints fans. Or the city. Or even if its food?  "New Orleans is the dirtiest smelliest city and has the worst food ever it’s that swine and crawfish thts killin yall brains," he tweeted early this morning. So you might want to put Eli down as a "maybe" for your next Saints tailgate....

Hope you enjoyed Lunch Line today. Thanks for taking a break with us.
