Remembering Who Reigns

Heather Thompson Day wants you to remember something this week.

“My life and yours is never in the hands of a single individual or organization or opportunity,” explains the Viral Jesus host, “because you work for a king.”

On a new devotional episode of the podcast, Day reminds us that the God we serve has unfathomable resources at his fingertips—resources he delights to use on our behalf. The rejections we experience and the doors that close in our faces do not have the final say. Instead, Day points us to the opening verses of Psalm 47:1–2 (CSB), which remind us who governs our lives.

Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with a jubilant cry. For the Lord, the Most High, is awe-inspiring, a great King over the whole earth.

In moments when we feel like finding our way through this life is impossible, may we remember that we are loved and led by the God who reigns in love over all.
