Hello everybody, The Lancashire Post archives are a real treasure trove of old images. And none more so than some of this week's gems. Woolworths was a hugely popular general shop found in many places across the country. But a decline in sales during the 00s saw the chain store sadly close its doors in the UK. Here we can see pictures showing the Preston store in its heydays and on its final days. Also very popular were some of Preston North End's managers during the 90s. But mixed in with these legends were some that fans would much rather forget! How many do you remember? Next up was the regular trawl through the years and decades - this week turning our eyes to 1986. What was life like back then? Take a look at these pictures showing Preston, Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. And finally this week was another look back at Preston and South Ribble primary schools in the 90s. These cute images all show children who will now be in their 20s - some even in their 30s. We hope they bring back happy memories. Until next time... Naomi naomi.moon@nationalworld.com | |
