Eric Bordenkircher, author of a recent Middle East Quarterlyarticle on this topic, is a research fellow at UCLA. Previously, he taught at Claremont McKenna College and Pepperdine University. His work has appeared in the Jerusalem Post, Washington Examiner, and National Interest. He has a B.A. in history from Boston College, an M.A. from McGill University, and a Ph.D. from UCLA in Islamic studies.
