with Abdullah Bozkurt

Abdullah Bozkurt is a writing fellow at the Middle East Forum and director of the Stockholm Center for Freedom. He previously served as a New York bureau chief for Zaman, a daily newspaper associated with Fethullah Gülen shut down in the aftermath of the alleged coup attempt in July 2016. His recent work, on Turkey’s ties to the IRGC’s Al-Quds Force and on Sunni jihadist groups in Syria, made him a target of Erdoğan’s regime. He lives in exile in Sweden.

The Middle East Forum, an activist think tank, deals with the Middle East, Islamism, U.S. foreign policy, and related topics, urging bold measures to protect Americans and their allies. Pursuing its goals via intellectual, operational, and philanthropic means, the Forum recurrently has policy ideas adopted by the U.S. government.
