Reminder for Panel Event:
Islamism in the 2020 Elections
Date: Thursday, October 22, 2020
Time: 1:00-2:00 p.m. EDT
Venue: Zoom webinar (register here)

The Islamism in Politics (IIP), a project of the Middle East Forum, is pleased to announce a virtual panel to discuss Islamism in the 2020 U.S. elections.

Background: American Islamists have gained power, prestige, and political leverage since the 2016 election. Their impact has been felt from Main Street to Pennsylvania Avenue. They hold office on local school boards, in state capitols, in the halls of Congress, and in the Executive and Judicial branches.

They forward an exceedingly ambitious agenda: to replace the Constitution with Islamic legislation. To the extent they succeed, they compromise democratic institutions, legitimize radical utopianism, and weaken national security.

The panel: Four speakers will discuss the threat in the 2020 elections,

  • Benjamin Baird will moderate and discuss Islamist influence on the 2020 presidential race.
  • Sam Westrop will present federal elections data on Islamist campaign contributions.
  • Dalia al-Aqidi will recount her experience running a counter-Islamist campaign against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) in Minnesota’s 5th District.
  • Gregg Roman will review efforts by the Qatari regime to penetrate the U.S. political establishment during the Trump administration.
To attend, register online here by 1 pm EDT on October 22. Please contact Stacey Roman with any questions at Stacey@MEForum.org
