Note from the ACDIS Editor

CDI Journal focuses on collaboration and expansion

by Linnea Archibald

CDI is often called the bridge between the coding and clinical worlds, but many other avenues for interdepartmental collaboration also exist. The January/February edition of the CDI Journal kicks off the new year by discovering those cooperative roads as well as exploring emerging paths of expansion.

In this edition’s pages, readers will learn how to navigate their relationship with case management and how they can help their cohorts with medical necessity reviews, the mechanics of retrospective reviews and managing that process with coding and physicians, and how to implement a systemwide outpatient CDI program.
