School discipline: The state's superintendent of education wants teachers to crack down on misbehaving students this coming school year. "Assertive discipline," he argues, allows teachers to remove disruptive students who are making it difficult for other the children to learn. Critics, however, note that this philosophy does nothing for the suspended and expelled students. Patrick Wall has the story.
St. Charles Parish arrests: The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office hasn't said much about the arrest of three former high-ranking employees last week. But the Metropolitan Crime Commission has some insight into what the allegations likely are, and they include a hunting camp and LSU tailgating. Michelle Hunter has the details.
Abused dog to find new home: A dog abused in a viral social media video will soon have a new home. The family of the boy arrested for beating the dog in January 2023 has agreed to give up the pet. Gabriella Killett has the story.
