Rental market continues to swell as 348 high-end apartments to open next summer

Good morning, Acadiana. Let's get down to business this Tuesday morning.

Developers continue to bet heavy on the rental market in Lafayette as the cost of buying a home continues to escalate. A Hammond-based developer has paid over $7 million for acreage behind Whole Foods to build 348 high-end apartments. "We feel the current market factors are going to favorable for us in the long run,' said Prescott Bailey with Stoa Group, who will build another large multi-family project in the West Village development in Scott.
