He said he believes the Republican Partyâs decades-long monopoly on state politics is beginning to show cracks. Utah hasn't had a Democratic governor since 1984 and King acknowledges it's a "David vs. Goliath" scenario. | News Releases Utah Office of Energy Development and partners to improve regional grid with half billion dollar RELIEF project The Utah Office of Energy Development (OED) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded $249,557,047 from the Department of Energyâs Grid Deployment Office for project RELIEF (Reliable Electric Lines: Infrastructure Expansion Framework). 1782 - George Washington creates the Purple Heart. It was awarded to three soldiers, then largely forgotten. On Feb 22, 1932, Washingtonâs 200th birthday, the U.S. War Department announced the creation of the âOrder of the Purple Heart.â -
