It's Tuesday and National Pickle Day

What You Need to Know

  •  Rep. John Curtis could be arrested if he goes to Hong Kong. His response, paraphrased: I'd like to see you try. On Nov. 1, a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers proposed legislation that would apply financial sanctions to 49 individuals in Hong Kong for alleged human rights violations. Their response was to petition the Hong Kong Supreme Court for permission to arrest the U.S. lawmakers. His actual response, posted on X: “I will not be bullied or silenced. Your cat calls from 8,000 miles away will only reinforce my resolve to fight for freedom in Hong Kong, Ukraine, Israel, and wherever else it is challenged.”
