Good morning,

We have two cold fronts pushing through Minnesota. The first will cool temperatures slightly early Wednesday, but a second, more significant blast of cold air comes in late Wednesday into Wednesday night. Winds will pick up behind the front making for a blustery Thursday. Get the latest on Updraft.
Repatriation goes digital

The recent return of thousands of items related to tribal life in what is now North Dakota used a new approach to the idea of repatriation. Advocates of digital repatriation say it’s a way to get the material to a larger audience.
 
Fears, frustration mount as Minnesota’s long-term care staffing crisis deepens

Staff counts are down 20 percent, 18 homes have closed and violation complaints around resident health and safety have doubled since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Observers warn care quality is in jeopardy with no easy fix.

Trump asks the Supreme Court to resolve Mar-a-Lago document dispute. The legal battle over documents seized from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in August continues with the former president requesting the Supreme Court intervene in the case.

Supreme Court conservatives may strike another blow to landmark Voting Rights Act. The U.S. Supreme Court, which twice in the last decade has struck down or neutered provisions of the the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act, may well be poised to do it again. 

Despite deepening drought, a good crop for Minnesota. In spite of highly erratic weather patterns this growing season, most farmers and crops in Minnesota fared pretty well overall.
Addressing the damaging impact of digital media on Black adolescents. Dr. Brendesha Tynes is a Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Southern California. She is a former teacher who studies the toll digital media takes on young people of color. She was in Minnesota the week of Sept. 28 to give a lecture at the annual Nobel Conference. She spoke with MPR News Reporter Catharine Richert about the online lives of Black adolescents and the less-talked about ways it relates to mental health.
