Dear Friends, When I was elected to Congress in 2010, along with a record-breaking Freshman class, the major platform was repealing the ACA and the national debt. The debt continues to grow, and the ACA is not getting any better. The former isn’t helped by the latter. In South Carolina, we’re down to one insurer offering plans on the exchanges. We’re seeing triple digit premium hikes, and deductibles through the roof. Millions are paying for insurance they don’t want. In SC, more than 100,000 are stuck without an option. I remain committed to repealing the ACA and replacing it with a system that works for all families. Americans deserve better. For more of my thoughts on repealing the ACA, visit my Facebook page. Bipartisan Conversations Recently, I joined a bipartisan group on CBS This Morning for a discussion on issues currently affecting our country, such as health care, and how we can come together as Republicans and Democrats and move forward for the American people. Chair Yellen in Banking Committee I also questioned Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen in Senate Banking Committee on how the Federal Reserve’s plans will impact first-time homebuyers and South Carolinians who are trying to improve their quality of life. You can watch here. It is truly an honor to serve the great people of South Carolina, and I am working everyday to ensure South Carolinians and their families have what they need to prosper.
