Increasing diversity in clinical trial populations is necessary to adequately assess the safety and efficacy of new therapies in all patient populations. A recent study compared diversity across randomized clinical trials and found that age, ethnicity, and gender were shown to be more reflective of the general patient population in the real-world evidence studies compared to randomized clinical trials.
