Nearly 2,000 hospitals will receive roughly $1.9 billion in VBP bonuses, CMS says

More than 1,500 hospitals will receive about $1.9 billion in bonuses for fiscal 2020 from the Hospital Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) program, CMS reported. The results are similar to last year, with about 55% of participants receiving bonuses, Modern Healthcare reported.
OIG: Northwest Medical Center received $200,000 in overpayments due to inaccurate billing

Northwest Medical Center in Arizona received $201,624 from Medicare for incorrectly billed inpatient and outpatient services based on a sample of claims, according to a report released by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) on December 3.
