MedPAC recommends 3.3% raise for hospitals in 2021
Source: ACDIS
The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) voted unanimously to recommend hospitals receive a 3.3% raise in 2021. CMS has already scheduled a 2.8% raise to hospitals for inpatient and outpatient services, but MedPAC recommends that Congress increase net payments even more.
Tip of the week
CMS will be making several changes to address inappropriate use of HCPCS code L8679 (implantable neurostimulator, pulse generator, any type). Starting March 1, Medicare Administrative Contractors will reject claims for HCPCS code L8679 submitted without an appropriate HCPCS/CPT surgical procedure code.
