OCR issues guidance for contacting recovered COVID-19 patients about blood donations

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued guidance June 12 for healthcare providers interested in contacting former novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients about donating blood and plasma that could help other COVID-19 patients.

HHS said the final rule, which rolls back Obama-era regulations prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity and the termination of a pregnancy, would result in savings of nearly $3 billion over five years.
