The date of departure for U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has long been the subject of prognostication, given his less-than-cordial relationship with his now ex-boss. Tillerson's firing by President Donald Trump came as the former Exxon Mobil CEO returned from a trip to Africa. Trump said he would nominate CIA Director Mike Pompeo as the new secretary of state, while the CIA could have its first woman leader, one who played a key role in the torture of terrorism suspects in the years following the 9-11 attacks.
