Ribbon Cutting for the New Library Expansion! It's been quite the project! The construction is nearly done, and we're inviting you to our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday, June 4, at 1:00pm. This 21-month construction project has added 23,681 total square feet to the library building and will allow us to provide additional services and programs for the Frankfort and Franklin County community. On the first floor of the expansion, we now have the River Room, a library program space that will accommodate over 200 seats! We’re excited for the opportunity to expand our programs. Also on the first floor of the expansion is a larger space for the Friends of the Library’s Lilian Lindsey Bookstore. Much of the second floor expansion is dedicated to the new children’s area, including interactive learning stations! The expansion has also allowed us to build a larger teen space and much larger Youth Program Room where we host many programs for babies, toddlers, kids, and teens. Thank you for your patience while we built this new addition. We can’t wait for you to visit your new library! |
