Richland County approves more than $1 million in grants

Richland County Council has approved a grant relief program for small businesses and nonprofits affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The application process for grants opens today and ends June 30.

S.C. receives annual share of tobacco settlement payments

The state received more than $75 million in an annual payment stemming from 1998’s Master Settlement Agreement, according to the attorney general’s office. Since 1998, South Carolina has received more than $1.66 billion in payments.

More than half of U.S. households have completed census

The latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that 53.2% of U.S. households have completed the 2020 census, including 48.1% in South Carolina. York County has a state-best 58% response rate.
