Because of AI’s ever-evolving capabilities, you are guaranteed to be surprised by some news about it. Today the surprise is that one of the games Google used to train its video-game-playing AI agent was Goat Simulator. The concept of Goat Simulator is wonderfully simple: You (the goat) go around the world and destroy things.
I truly love this game. It is weird and random. Sure, it’s no Hatoful Boyfriend — the pigeon dating sim that takes weird up many, many levels — but that would be asking a lot. I am a Goat Simulator hipster, so I suggest playing the first version when the bugs were the point. YMMV.
On a more relevant note (low bar), check out Jason Ippen’s look at AI-powered marketing strategies for consumer packaged goods. It’s filled with useful insights, not exploding goats.
