My sister Jamie passed away last Wednesday evening at the age of 65.

As many of you know she suffered from COPD and her last few months were really difficult for her.

She lived in Arizona and the air quality due to fires in both Arizona and California didn't help.

She passed away with both myself and her husband George by her side.

She was fortunate to have spent time with both of her sons. Always the strong one, she didn't want them to be around when she died and she waited for her youngest one to leave on Monday before slipping into unconsciousness on Tuesday evening.

It won't surprise most of you to know that even on Tuesday she was making us laugh.

I will say this... the look on her face when she passed was just beautiful. The pain and struggle was completely gone.

She told me in no uncertain terms she was ready and was praying for God to take her as the struggle was too much.

I have to keep this in mind when the tears fill my eyes as they do quite often.

She shared with me a dream she had a few weeks ago that gave her great comfort. In the dream the doorbell rang. She answered the door and it was our father and mother. Initially she said it was shocking but she threw herself into our dad's arms. She told me he said everything was going to be okay.

It was after this dream my sister said she was ready. She said she had such a sense of calmness come over her.

I'm happy to say we brought my sister home and buried her by our mom which she loved so, so dearly.

Losing my mom 16 months ago, now my sister who was like a second mom has been difficult. But knowing they are together now and both free of dementia (mom) and COPD (Jamie) is a great comfort. I'm quite certain they've found a couple of "hot" Keno machines and are laughing endlessly!

Here is the last picture of Jamie, my mother and myself. This was taken in 2014.

She loved writing Anything Goes and always hoped to be back if she could get her health back. I know many of you would ask about her and she did read the emails you sent and I would share with her the emails from those of you who asked about her. She almost always remembered her readers.

She told me to let all her readers know about her passing and to also that she treasured all the interactions she had with you all... both the good and the bad.

Lastly I would like to share that in typical Jamie fashion she worked on her own epitaph. This is what will say:

Loving Wife, Mother & Sister
Her Wit & Humor Will Be Missed

I can honestly say it already is! Rest well my sweet sister, I will always love and miss you.

To all the Anything Goes readers...

Take Care and Be Well,
Anisa
