The latest on the coronavirus in Maine

Three more Mainers have died and another 565 COVID-19 cases reported across the state since the weekend, according to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The statewide death toll now stands at 2,138. Check our tracker for more information.

The World Health Organization on Tuesday reversed course from an earlier statement, and is recommending that people get booster shots as data show that boosters have helped to avoid an overwhelming tide of cases driven by the omicron variant.
