In his musical life, which includes 35 CDs as a leader, 25 years of working with the great flutist Hubert Laws, a countless number of gigs, and a full teaching schedule, pianist-keyboardist Rob Mullins has excelled in a variety of idioms, ranging from straight ahead jazz to funk, pop, fusion and studio work.
 
Rob keeps busy. He has written four influential music books: Jazz Piano Voicings, one for kids called Let’s Play Jazz, Blues Step By Step and The Jazz Piano Etudes (which is available from www.planetmullins.com), addressing issues in his works that had not been covered by others. He tours with Hubert Laws, plays in Southern California clubs on a regular basis, produces records, and enjoys the challenge of studio work.

Rob Mullins is optimistic about the future. “I like to play different types of music in different genres, and I enjoy working with new people. I love the challenge of starting out with just a seed of an idea and developing it into something significant. In these divisive times, music still has the ability to bring people together and I hope to continue on my path.”
