Robert Goodland, PhD: Diet Recommendations to Delay Global Warming

Robert Goodland, PhD:
Diet Recommendations to Delay
Global Warming

Dr. Robert Goodland directed environmental and social impact assessment studies on development projects all over the world for more than 40 years. He advised institutions on how to manage those risks and prevent harm. Dr. Goodland was nicknamed the “conscience” of the World Bank. He was awarded the first Coolidge Memorial Medal by the IUCN for outstanding contributions to environmental conservation. He and co-author Jeff Anhang, published, in the November/December 2009 issue of the World Watch journal, the shocking estimate that “at least 51%” of global greenhouse gas emissions were attributable to the lifecycle and supply chain of livestock products. This meant all meats, dairy and its by-products. Dr. Robert Goodland passed away on December 28, 2014.

Watch Dr. Goodland video lecture from our September 2013 Advanced Study Weekend in Santa Rosa, California, as he presented “Searching for Truth in Agriculture – Climate Change Connection: Livestock’s Long Shadow.”
