Artist Robert D. mcFarland was born and raised in Logan, Utah. He began painting in 1987 when his wife enrolled him in a beginning watercolor class as a birthday gift. After this introduction into watercolor Robert began painting seriously on his own, studying the work of Phillip Jameson, Andrew Wyeth and Thomas William Jones.
McFarland has been involved with many major art shows which include Coors Western Art Show; Masters in Miniature, Trailside Gallery; American Miniatures, Settlers West Gallery; Arts for the Parks Top 100; Robert N. and Peggy Sears Dixie Invitational; Zions Bank show; CNS' Celebration of Art and Soup and Springville Museum of Art Spring Salon.
He has been featured in "Watercolor Artist" and "Southwest Art" magazines. Most recently his painting "Clover Lake" was the back cover of the 30th anniversary edition of "Gray's SportingJournal."
