| For American tech watchers it was an interesting close to the week. On the one hand there was what some might see as a positive with the first US tech IPO in some time seeing communications firm Twilio almost double in value on debut. Even if we have become accustomed to viewing such early rises with some scepticism this might give encouragement to a queue of others waiting in line, including Nutanix and Coupa. On the other hand and across the pond, the UK surprised by voting to leave the European Union, putting in doubt the historically strong relationship between US tech firms that often make their homes in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Finally, that great and much-loved all-American heroine Barbie finally succumbed to temptation (and we’re not talking about Ken) as she became a game developer.
