A Waymo robotaxi was attacked and set on fire in San Francisco

Investigators are trying to determine what prompted a crowd to attack a Waymo robotaxi in San Francisco on Saturday evening

In an odd turn of events, a self-driving car operated by Alphabet-owned Waymo was set upon by vandals in San Francisco on Saturday evening.

According to footage and eyewitness reports, the attackers graffitied the car before smashing its windows and throwing fireworks inside. The incident ended with the autonomous Jaguar I-Pace going up in flames and was captured in dramatic images posted on social media.

No passengers were in the Waymo vehicle when attacked, and no bystanders are thought to have been hurt in the incident.

It comes a week after a self-driving Waymo vehicle collided with a bicycle in the same city, causing minor injuries to the cyclist, and follows a more serious incident in October involving an autonomous car operated by General Motors-backed Cruise ...

Galaxy Watch gets nod for sleep apnea detection feature

Samsung smartwatches in the U.S. are set to offer sleep apnea detection, a crucial health feature missing from Apple smartwatches

Samsung has once again beaten the Apple Watch to a crucial piece of health-centric smartwatch tech after receiving U.S.Food and Drug Administration approval for a sleep apnea detection feature on its Galaxy Watch smartwatches.

Sleep apnea is a prevalent disorder that involves repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep that can cause various health issues.

But owners of Galaxy smartwatches will need to be patient as the feature is set to arrive as a software update in the third quarter of this year – meaning July at the earliest. Also, Samsung has yet to specify which Galaxy Watch trims will be getting the feature, but the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic should be safe candidates ...

French village votes to ban people scrolling on their phones in public

Residents of a village just outside Paris have voted to bring in restrictions on phone use in streets, shops, and parks

The village of Seine-Port, just outside Paris, voted in a recent referendum to restrict smartphone use in public in a bid to break people's obsession with their devices.

It means that adults and children are no longer allowed to fiddle with their phones while walking down the street and even sitting with others on park benches. Shops, cafes, and restaurants have also adopted the new rule, the Guardian reported.

A charter for families has also been introduced, restricting children's screen time in the morning, in bedrooms, and during meals.

"I'm totally in favor of this," a local mother with two toddlers told the Guardian. "Some say it's an attack on freedoms but I don't think so. It's about raising awareness of the impact of phones in our lives"...

Canon MegaTank Pixma G3270: a home printer done right

It's a budget-priced all-in-one printer designed for the home, so we tested its quality and long-term ink costs

Canon gave its MegaTank Pixma G3270 the features you want from a home printer at a surprisingly low cost. In fact, at $230 (and sometimes on sale for just $150), it's the least expensive tank printer I've reviewed.

Affordability is great, but you might assume there are some compromises in terms of reliability, quality, or speed. But this model balances those features remarkably well. It might not be perfect, but as a home printer solution, the Pixma G3270 is among the best printers you can buy.

The Canon machine is a compact printer that comes in black or white. It measures 16.4 inches wide and 13.3 inches deep, and stands just 7 inches tall with all trays closed. After adding paper, a loaded rear paper tray increases the height to 12 inches ...
