On Wednesday, Rocking the Daisies organisers announced the cancellation of their 2021 event.

Though a difficult decision to make, with an official press statement marking it as a "sad day" for those involved, due to the ongoing battle against Covid-19, it was a necessary one.

This will be the second year with no Daisies, as the 2020 festival was also postponed due to the pandemic.

"From the time we announced the 15th year postponement last year, up until this very point, our team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes alongside all relevant officials, and stakeholders, in order to do everything in our power to make this year's event viable," a statement from the organisers reads.

"However, with the latest announcement of increased, stricter regulations, as well as the ongoing uncertainty of the months to come in South Africa, it has become clear that an event of our size in 2021 is not an option, and most importantly is not safe for our most important stakeholders - you, our loyal fans and supporters."
