Why This Matters: Lack of access to Netflix has been a long standing complaint from users. The absence was particularly strange as Apple and Rokus streaming devices had similar capabilities out of the box.

Why This Matters: The offering is initially only available to some high-profile YouTube content providers but will soon be available to all users. The introduction of the new feature comes a day after live-streaming had its moment in the sun, as House of Representatives members took to Periscope, Twitter and Facebook to transmit their sit in over gun control legislation when House Republicans pulled the plug on C-SPAN.
