FREE Community Concert this weekend! Songs can take us back to another time and there's bound to be a song or two of Ross Wilson's that will do just that. Join MC Peter Rowsthorn and opening band 'The Wizards' for this FREE community concert:
Saturday 8 February, 7-9.30pm Dockers training grounds, Veterans Parade, Cockburn Central
What should I bring? Bring along a picnic, blanket or chairs, torch and insect repellent, and settle in for an evening of 'cruisey' tunes. If you don't feel like packing a picnic, there will be food vendors on-site. Don't forget your cash as there are no EFTPOS/ATM facilities on site. This is an alcohol and smoke-free event. Not pets are permitted at this venue. |

Mitigating fire risk this summer The City undertakes a range of fire prevention measures throughout the year in preparation for the summer bushfire season. In 2019-20, the City invested $280,000, including $110,000 in State Government Emergency Services Levy grants, plus $170,000 of its own funds, in fire mitigation efforts. What the City is doing this summer - Continuing to inspect private properties for firebreak compliance
- Responding to illegal burns
- Working with police to help identify possible arsonists and assisting DFES in fire response
- Working with state agencies to ensure the land they manage within Cockburn is mitigated against bushfire risk
- Deploying staff and equipment to areas of need in Perth and regional areas and interstate. Four volunteers from the Jandakot and South Coogee bush fire brigades recently returned from interstate fire support.
