Using visual metaphors How do you present complex topics so learners can understand them? Present a visual image to show a concept or to convey the meaning you want the learner to adopt. For example, to train participants on strategic planning, you may develop a visual road map that represents an idea advancing in the club over five years. Also, to explain the concept of fellowships, you could visually represent connectors from a fellowship topic (for example, music) and the various people (Rotarians, family members, alumni) linked by this common topic. Using visual metaphors helps learners relate to complex concepts or ideas. Source: ATD blog by Mike Parkinson Do you have a training tip? Tell us at learn@rotary.org. | |||||
